OUR VIEW ON CHILDHOOD VACCINATION:

Childhood vaccination is truly a modern miracle. Many of the lethal infant diseases parents worried about in the past have been well controlled with our modern infant and childhood vaccines. Our doctors strongly believe in childhood vaccination. We follow the CDC’s (Center for Disease Control) vaccine schedule with all vaccines. The CDC’s schedule is considered “standard of care” and is based on decades of experience and research.

Rarely, some parents choose not to vaccinate or use alternative or delayed vaccine schedules. No valid scientific data exists supporting the safety or efficacy of these alternative schedules. Choosing not to vaccinate your baby is a dangerous decision and puts your child at risk of very serious diseases which can be fatal.

We caution parents about vaccine information on the internet. Many sites on the internet have very faulty information about vaccines. This faulty information can lead to unneeded fear of vaccines. This fear has lead to some parents delaying or refusing their baby’s vaccines. These decisions are leading to a rise in some of these vaccine preventable diseases. We now live in an era of rising cases of measles and whooping cough (pertussis) which are both preventable through routine vaccination. A large outbreak of whooping cough in California in 2010 has resulted in the deaths of 10 babies there.

Remember: childhood vaccines save lives.
